windows7iscomingLess than three days and then there will be the debut of the new operating system Windows 7. No predictions, until now, on sales and the satisfaction of users. Microsoft, after the flop of Windows Vista, prefers to be cautious. This time, however, the new system could really make life easier.

It is estimated that from 22 October, the market entry of Windows 7, 65% of PCs in businesses will be able to use the new operating system with the optimal settings. All this may seem almost normal, but it's not if you consider that with the debut of Vista most of the previous system was not updated, because the minimum standards required by the operating system were too high for most computers. This time, however, the hardware needed to install the new system is not so demanding, you will simply need a computer that has a 1 GHz processor, 1 GB of Ram. Microsoft aims especially at the rich notebooks market, that's why they made a light system.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has already launched the new marketing operation, deciding to give away 777 copies of Windows 7 to the inhabitants of Zevenhuizen, in Netherlands.
It's not a random choice: the country has only 7,000 inhabitants, and its name means "seven houses". So the first 777 people who will register on the website created for the occasion, will receive a free copy of Windows 7 Home Premium.
Problems, at this point, could start with the upgrade. You coul do it only if the computer has already installed Vista, or you may need to format the hard drive and run an installation from scratch. You will need to manually back up data and files that interest you and then hand install in Windows 7 all the programs you use.
Things are different if you bought a PC with Vista from 26 June. In this case you will be entitled to switch to Windows 7 without paying a euro.
But because Microsoft made a light system, some programs are gone: you will not find, on Windows 7, an e-mail program, a manager of digital photos, a calendar or a program for creating multimedia movies. Actually you can easily download them from Internet.
So, now, there are still two unknown facts: the compatibility with the system previously installed that may be checked at this address and the price. The version for public is 120 euros even though in the United States is sold at about $ 120.
But the price may go up to 319 euros and, in Italy, unlike other countries, Microsoft has not provided an offer for students (an upgrade copy of Windows Home Premium or Professional 7 at about $ 30) or for families (three copies of Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade for 150 euros). The offers are available only in the U.S. and some European countries like Germany and France.
