In the name of pseudo-Christian propaganda, the italian Senate blocked the marketing of abortion pill RU486, a drug that does nothing special except make easier abortion permitted by law 194. It's unacceptable that a group of people try to impose their beliefs on those who consider them only stupid bigotry. It's disgusting when it's done by this majority of hypocrites who shamelessly tramples Christianity every day.
The love for your neighbor of which Christ was talking about in the gospel clearly expected not to impose by force someone ideas on others. Christ did not fight against anyone and even prevented the disciples to save him with weapons from the guards of the Sanhedrin. The Church, however throughout history has done the opposite, and has systematically sought to impose its beliefs on everyone. Its, not the beliefs of Christ. In fact, there is no gospel condemn of abortion, homosexuality or of assisted fertilization, the war horses of the modern Christians and of the majority in office when pretends to do "morality" politics.
A position that actually hides, not too well, the hostility of many Christians to respect the freedom of women to decide about their own body, a pathological sexual phobia and the will to deny even the basic human rights to homosexuals, including the right to life since the Church has shamefully opposed the UN initiative to decriminalize homosexuality in the world. But Christ had other priorities, indeed his moral convictions are directed mainly to hypocrites. We can certainly count among them politicians who do not really live a Christian life from any point of view but try to impose medieval Christian laws on their citizens.
Evidently there is in Italy a good number of Catholics willing to be fooled by these low cheap propaganda techniques, including the same Church leaders. Or more likely the majority of Italian Catholics are just as disgusting hypocrites as the ones against whom Christ speaks out several times in the Gospel, the only times he loses his temper. People who care about only a facade of morality and not the real ills that plague this country. The Mafia infiltrated at all levels in politics, which means complicity with murderers and criminals. The racism that leads to reject the stranger as your brother, an unacceptable attitude from a Christian standpoint. A premier who promotes with his behaviors and his televisions moral relativism and the marketing of the female body. Decent and dignified Christians should refuse any complicity with this majority that is anti Christian in all important issues, and Christian only when it is easy, convenient and useful to be.
But Christianity is morally degraded since centuries and so the real original Christian values, respect for others and for their choices first of all, now exist only among atheists and secular people. What desolation and disgust that these "Christians" now in the temple don't welcome just merchants but also murderers, whoremongers, corrupted, racists, and applaud them happily as good Catholics.
